So, here we are. Super-pumped and ready to rock!
“Tell me how I can get all those fans, screaming at me for music, desperate to part with their hard-earned cash for my awesome output” I hear you thinking. Well, we will get there – fear not – but there’s a process to
follow here, and one that exists for a reason. Jumping straight to the juicy bit where you put your music online and ask people to buy it is going to do no good without doing all the stuff between now and then. To use a
well-worn cliché, the whole thing is a marathon, not a sprint.
I feel your impatience too. It’s frustrating to know that you have some steps to take, but trust me – if you can stave off your justified impatience long enough to follow through on these steps properly, you’ll be in the best position to take things up a notch when required, and when it comes to getting support whether financial or otherwise from your fans, you’ll not regret doing the groundwork first.
In part 1, we will define who you are (from a musician’s standpoint anyway). We’ll look at how you want to be seen, what you have out there already and how you can use what other people are doing to help you set a benchmark for your own career.
After that we’ll look at getting your brand, your site, your socials and your email list all set up. It’s a lot to do, but as I said, it’s a solid process and hey, nothing worth doing was ever effortless!
